Pictures of most of the competitors are available for purchase online at very reasonable prices - all proceeds going to the club.
The Harwich Runners 5k Series will be run on a Thursday evening and race HQ is the 4th Dovercourt Sea Scout Hall (map)
As always the Junior 1 mile race will start at 7:30pm and the 5k race starts at 8pm
Entries this year will be online & in advance for the full series.
Only 200 entries will be sold on a first come first served basis.
The first Harwich 5k series was held in 1992 and although the course has had a few minor changes since then the format remains the same. The handicap is based on 40 miniutes - so if you think it will take you 30 miniutes you will have a handicap of 10 miniutes and start at 8:10pm, 20 miniute 5k will have a handicap of 20 miniutes and start at 8:20 and so on. The idea being that everyone should finish close together. Handicaps are adjusted as you get quicker and by the end of the series many will have improved their 5k PB. Course map below.
