Springfield XC details

53-12 CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE
SUNDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2009

HOSTED BY SPRINGFIELD STRIDERS

HYLANDS PARK, CHELMSFORD

SENIOR RACE 10.45
JUNIOR RACE 10.00

The race is being held at the usual venue and on the same course as last year. Therefore the race will start near the entrance to the park and finish at the end of the car park. The Junior race will start and finish where the Senior race finishes.

The course involves crossing a 20 metre long concrete bridge twice, but spikes or studs are still the recommended footwear. You will be pleased to know that due to the different time of year some of the ditches are too overgrown to cross however you will still be getting your feet wet at the new water splash.

Please park sensibly.

The Writtle Social Club hall is available from 9.30 and will be manned at all times so bags can be safely left there if required. Refreshments and the results will be available at the hall.
There is no parking allowed at the hall.

May all your courses be muddy and your ditches deep,

Kevin Wright
Springfield Striders

PS CLUB COLOURS MUST BE WORN

Re: Springfield XC details

Mark has got space for one more if you want a lift, Dan. He's picking me up outside Somerfields at 8.50 tomorrow, so you can join me there if you want a lift (or would like a car to follow).

Re: Springfield XC details

Great result! But someone is trying to steal our club's thunder....how cheeky! Colchester Harriers are publicly claiming ladies team victory!?

29 November 2009 : 53-12 XC Hylands Park
posted 13 hours ago‎‎ by Alf CHAC Another victory for the ladies
On a tough fixture weekend Colchester Harriers still  managed good results at the second 53-12 fixture held over the notorious ditches of Hylands Park. With all five of the top ladies either running elsewhere or injured , the spirited green vested ladies still manages a fine team victory. Led by the experienced Lyn Higgs in second spot the Harriers surged to first place with Higgs backed up by Mellissa Dowell (8) Elodie Henrion ( 16) and Fran Norris (29). Still more Harriers ladies packed in with Toni Wilson (43), Rachel Richardson_Wright ( 50 ), and Faye Helliwell (60).

Re: Springfield XC details

Yes, I saw that on their website last night as well sad Perhaps whoever wrote their report wasn't at the presentation to hear the cheering from the Harwich camp!
