Re: Training

LOL! You'd have to watch out for the fishing line trailing off his ankle!!

No, it's something I tried when I ran the Mersea "Round The Island" race a few years back. Was only doing it as a training run in the end due to mild achilles tendonitis, but I found that hopping into the sea for a paddle really eased it up when it started to complain. I did get some very strange looks from the holidaymakers on the beach though lol

Re: Training

I agree, that was a good session with the sprints following the fitness test it was a real speed night.
Was pleasantly surprised to go the same distance as last time after all the long runs over the last few weeks.
It was a bit of a worry when Peter C came up behind me on the warm up and told me that I looked like I had done a long run on Sunday. Obviously I was running like a bit of a numpty then!

Re: Training

Don't remember the date but it was run on the Vines estate and involved two hills, it was this year, if that helps.
It was the first time we gave members the option to drive there, that's all I can remember.

Re: Training

Thanks for another excellent session Dennis! And thanks to Anna for her sterling work on "bottom watch" while we were all planking away merrily in the park...

Re: Training

Yes Dennis - a very good and varied session indeed. Nice one. I also thought your demonstration in the club house was very useful too - showing us your impression of a 'plank' was most informative. Keep up the good work...and if you have such able helpers as Anna and Paul in future then I think we're not just heading for decent 5K times but possibly, just possibly, the Special Air Services.

Cheers

Re: Training

Liked last night's session.
It was lovely to get back into training in group 3&1/2 after all those long slow miles!
Good relay at the end too!
